What is an ePSPay® terminal application?
The ePSPay® terminal application is a customized terminal application certified by TSYS in accordance with the most current Visa/MasterCard terminal authorization and settlement procedures.
Are all transactions secure?
The ePSPay® terminal application is written in an embedded encrypted code meeting the latest PCI_DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) formerly known as CISP requirements for credit card transaction processing.
How can I assure the credit cardholder information will remain secure?
The ePSPay® terminals are reset with Event Payment Services customer service department prior to the return of the terminals by the merchant to Event Payment Services. All credit card information is erased from the ePSPay® terminals upon being reset with Event Payment Services.
At what point are the credit cards verified?
All credit card transactions are authorized in the Authorization/Settlement process which is part of the Sync 2 process with event management software and the terminal. The ePSPay® Smart Card is the conduit of data information from software to the ePSPay® terminal.
What happens if one is declined?
The merchant calls the cardholder of the declined transaction for a different credit card number to authorize and settle the transaction.
How much does a unit cost to buy?
The ePSPay® terminal price is $695.00 for the first terminal. Additional terminals are $595.00 each. The terminals may be rented per event. Exactly what comes with it? The first terminal includes the ePSPay® terminal, one OmniKey Smart Card reader, two ePSPay® Smart Cards, and one OmniKey software Smart Card driver CD for the event management software. The additional terminals are the ePSPay® terminal and power supply. Prices are subject to change.
How much does a unit cost to rent?
Currently, the cost to rent the ePSPay® terminal is $125.00 per terminal plus a one time event registration fee of $350.00 per event for the first event then $175.00 per event thereafter. Prices are subject to change.
What other costs are there?
The additional costs would be the shipping/handling fee of the terminals to and from the merchant. These fees are incurred by the merchant.
What are the fees per transaction?
Event Payment Services is a registered ISO with Visa/MasterCard. Visa/MasterCard merchant rates assessed to the merchant are predicated how the merchant actually processes the transaction. Transactions that are electronically swiped thru the ePSPay® terminal are less than transactions that are keyed by the merchant. The merchant will be notified of the current Visa/MasterCard interchange & fees upon merchant qualification. Fees are subject to change by Visa/MasterCard.
How many terminals should I have for my event?
The number of ePSPay® terminals is dependent upon the number of bidders attending the function.
Do I need to have event or donor management software in order to use the system?
Event Payment Services recommends the merchant utilize the ePSPay® terminal(s) in sync with an event management software provider or our application interface software. Which one should I use? Currently, Event Payment Services is licensed with NW Software.Com Technologies, Inc. for your complete event management software. The Tracker software suite was developed exclusively for the non-profit industry. Event Payment Services also offers an application interface software for non-profit businesses that are looking for a simplified automated solution using a CSV file format.
Do I need a phone line at the event?
Each ePSPay® terminal requires an “analogue” telephone line to transmit transaction authorizations and settlement of the transactions; not a digital telephone line. The ePSPay® terminal can be programmed with an “Exchange Pre-fix” if necessary to dial.
What credit cards are supported?
The ePSPay® terminal is Class B certified with TSYS in meeting all requirements for PCI_DSS (Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standard) formerly known as CISP. Cardholder information is secure and safe from potential third-party identity theft. The terminals can process Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover, Diners Club, Carte Blanche, JBC credit cards.
How long will it take to train them to use the system?
The ePSPay® terminal is menu driven. According to existing users, the terminal is very user friendly. Your volunteers will parallel the ePSPay® terminal to using an ATM machine at your local bank, etc.
What kind of support do you offer for the system?
Event Payment Services provides support for credit card terminal processing and customer merchant services prior and post event during normal business hours. Additional hours are provided during the night of the event,
Who can I call during my event?
Event Payment Services list the customer service numbers in the Terminal Reference Guide.
What if a Smart Card is lost?
Event Payment Services provides two ePSPay® Smart Cards per event. The second card is for back up only if the first card is lost and/or damaged. The Smart Card does not store vital credit card information in accordance with PCI_DSS compliance.
What kind of documentation arrives with the system?
Event Payment Services provides a very complete and visual ePSPay® Terminal Reference Guide. The ePSPay® Terminal Reference Guide is sent in advance of the scheduled terminal training along with the Quick Reference Guide, or you may visit the website for this information.
How far in advance do I need to reserve a system for rental?
Event Payment Services recommends completing a terminal rental agreement and sending to Event Payment Services 30-days in advance prior to the event date.
When will the terminals arrive?
ePSPay® terminals are scheduled to arrive before your event. The terminal rental agreement allows the merchant to have the terminal(s) for eight business days from the date of receipt of the terminal equipment package.
An event guest registers with a credit card, but decides not to purchase anything at the event. What happens to their data?
The ePSPay® terminal application is totally secure and meets all PCI_DSS requirements. The application ePSPay® is Class B certified with TSYS processing requirements. TSYS authorized in excess of 15 trillion credit card transactions in 2006 in the United States. The terminal is secure during the event and post event.
